Durban

Durban offers a subtropical carnival atmosphere, endless summer, an effervescent ocean lined with golden beaches, and thousands of pleasure options. The slogan: "Durban - Where the Fun Never Sets" is particularly apt when applied to the Golden Mile. Sumptuous hotels command superlative views of the sea; restaurants present every facet of the city's cosmopolitan nature; night clubs and coffee bars scintillate until late. On a classical note, concert halls, theatres and art galleries pay tribute to the world's top talents - past and present.

Umhlanga Rocks - Up market resort with sophisticated shopping malls, a beach with sandy stretches and rocky areas, and a paved walkway along the beach. Trails meander through the dune forest of the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve.

Valley of a Thousand Hills - A scenic wonder of a vast rift valley dotted with hills within a Zulu tribal reserve featuring scattered beehive nuts. Stunning views of the valley of a Thousand Hills, two Phezulu Kraals and curio shops. Witch doctors throw the bones muttering incantations: also frequent displays of Zulu dancing.

Umhlanga Coastline - Only a short drive from Durban, the Umhlanga Coastline begins more or less at the landmark lighthouse that dominates Umhlanga’s beach. From here, the long, sandy beaches are a cosmopolitan collection of white hotel buildings and blocks of timeshare apartments that easily signify the lifestyle sought by many on this incredible stretch of coast, that is at once a tourist mecca and a seaside village that has refused to lose its small town appeal.

The Drakensberg - The Drakensberg is not only about its famous mountain peaks – Giants Castle, Cathedral Peak, Mont-Aux-Sources - it is also graced with a number of lower peaks known as the foothills of the Drakensberg. The entire Drakensberg is riddled with incredible waterfalls, rock pools, mountain streams, caves, crisp mountain air, and special spaces that draw both visitors to South Africa and locals alike.
